A floral workshop set in Belgium earlier this year; posed the question... "What happens when you plant a contemporary colour palette within a simplistic farmhouse setting?"

HART FLORAL and FLEUROPEAN were eager to find out. Set in the rural Belgian countryside, the two floral designers aimed to marry modern minimalism with rustic cottage romance. Plotting and planning quite literally from the ground up, Emily (Fleuropean) sourced and grew the unique variety of burnt orange and blue blooms while Madison (Hart Floral) dreamed of avant-garde fashion and starkly seasonal floral creations.

Donning a vintage Edwardian skirt paired with a simple knotted scarf, Anneleen proved the perfect model for the daring colour combination of florals. The final result was soaked in breath-taking simplicity and photographers TAYLOR & PORTERtruly succeeding in bringing the vision of modern country to life.

Indonesia based couple Marsha & Ed eloped to Iceland this October and alongside Scandinavian Styling and Floral duo, Nord & Mae I spent an incredible couple of days with them, capturing their ceremony on a black volcanic beach, sharing a seasonal supper and spending time in their traditional black timber house in the north of the island.

it felt untameable, and it somehow sits in perfect harmony between chaos and calm - an otherworldly, achingly beautiful contradiction

As a Photographer and passionate Explorer, each corner of the world excites me. My travel plans are extensive and I want to travel this beautiful planet for as long as I’m able. In Iceland I was overwhelmed by the raw natural beauty of the landscape. I’d never been somewhere so alive feeling. It felt like a place where nature was so incredibly powerful and it demands a deep respect for the environment.

LITTLE SAHARA, UTAH EDITORIAL by Louise Brotherton

A Bridal Fashion story, captured in the desert's of Utah, drawing on ideas of resilience and female co-operation.

Located in the western United States, Utah is known for it’s otherworldly geographically locations. To create this editorial story we started at the sand dunes of “Little Sahara”. Stylist Stay Co worked with the contrast of the white sand and bold black pieces by Emily Riggs, including her silk and fringe detailed pieces which gave a nod to Americana. Organic, dried texture florals were added in from Tinge Floral and hints of metal touches were added by Naturae Design.

I played with bold lines, structure and movement and model Nattalie Dawn kicked up dusty particles of sand under a blistering sun..

We then traveled 170 miles to Southern Utah, a location known for its striking and wild terrain, landscapes made out of Kayenta and Navajo Sandstone. Wind and Rain have sculpted the soft sandstone for millions of years creating arches, bluffs and canyons. At this location we didn’t want to take away from Mother Nature’s colours and creations so we stuck with a monochromatic palette, working with the idea of our model and the landscape fusing and becoming one.

I wanted to work in these challenging environments and with these artists, to push myself creatively whilst on a life-changing and healing solo road trip around America following personal challenges in my life. I am forever thankful for the four women who spent this day with me, not known to each other before, we bonded as we clocked up the miles in the car, chatting endlessly; the magnificent scenery encouraging us to open up and discuss the big things, the small things and everything in between. That day was a perfect synthesis of creatively and communication, helping me to not only endure but to grow through a really difficult time. I hope these photographs capture the feelings I wanted to convey of resilience, female strength and the beauty in the natural world.

Captured in Japan in November this shoot is deeply inspired by Western timeless vintage design and the Japanese idea of austere beauty, or what is known as “wabi”. Wabi is the kind of beauty that is mundane, subdued and yet its charm is radiant through its imperfectness. The philosophy is fully developed in the Japanese art of tea ceremony and the appreciation of the unadorned falling leaves of autumn. From these two elements we created the concept of this photoshoot – an intimate tea time in a traditional machiya in Tokyo.

Wabi is the kind of beauty that is mundane, subdued and yet its charm is radiant through its imperfectness.

The kimono worn by the bride is subtly ornamented with autumn motif, and its muted color scheme is chosen to complement the groom’s outfit that together they blend harmoniously with the ethereal setting. Flower piece that was constructed of withering branches is a marriage of classic ikebana way and raw arrangement, with another hint of Autumn obscurely displayed on the tea ceremony utensils used.
A set of matcha tea with Western delightful sweets – as an alternative to the traditional wagashi; is perfected by the calligraphy suit of a simple invitation and a handwritten letter.

All the pieces are woven together, each of them completes – not outshines, one another, that they present a delicate interpretation of a timeless quiet beauty, gleaming with a genuine love story for our real couple.

Tom & Kat hosted their wedding in two fabulous venues in the heart of the English Cotswolds. Proceedings began with an intimate family rehearsal dinner set at the prestigious Pig Hotel, near Bath. The Pig has a chic and contemporary vibe within in a Georgian mansion house, with cutting edge ‘garden to kitchen’ food where Tom and Kat hosted a dinner the evening before they got married,

Whilst Kat enjoyed a luxurious morning at the Pig making her preparations; Tom and his groomsmen began the day with a pint of beer at ‘The White Horse’, a traditional English pub in Biddlestone, right round the corner from the 18th century church they were getting married in.

The ceremony in the church was a perfect blend of tradition and contemporary touches, including a Pablo Neruda poem, the lines of which had been uniquely stitched into Kat’s Hermione De Paula couture gown and veil.

The guests were then invited to a beautiful reception at The Lost Orangery, where Cornish based ‘Beautiful & The Feast’ served Champagne and canapés in the gardens. In traditional English weather style, every season came in one day! The speeches took place outside the Orangery in bright sunshine, followed by the heavens opening and an amazing rainbow signalling the call to dinner!
